Its time to gear up for Shuffle & Cut Games' X-Wing Miniatures Winter Tournament Series. This time around, you'll find things a bit more flexible. Tournament series events will occur every other Friday, starting November 14th, 2014 and wrapping up on December 26th, 2015 (four total events). Each event starts at 7:00 PM, will consists of three rounds and is $5 to play. A final play-off event will be held January 9th, 2014 at 7:00 PM (details to follow).
Each Tournament Series event is a stand alone tournament which will include one Full Winter Tournament kit as prizing. However, as with our recent X-Wing Summer Series, there will be additional overall prizes for people who do well across multiple events. One key difference is that only your three best tournament performances (out of the four weeks) will count toward overall standings. So, if you miss a week, or your experimental squad didn't work quite the way you thought it would, you still have a chance to recover! The other difference is that point leaders for the tournament series will be invited to compete in a special grand finale playoff event where they compete for the top prizes. The amount of players invited to the playoffs a well as the total prize pool will be determined by the overall attendance throughout the tournament series. More details will follow.
Play-test for Prizes: Winter 2014
Looking for a way to earn some of the cool exclusives from the Winter 2014 Organized play kit but the idea of a tournament just isn't doing it for you? Try play-testing for prizes instead! Each Friday night the tournament series isn't taking place (or even if it is depending on space), you have the option to hang out and fly casual or you could take part in play testing for prizes.
The program is similar to a tournament but without all the stress. You would still pay an entry fee of $5 and at the end of the night you earn prizes based on how well you did. What comes in between though, is entirely up to you. When you sign up you will receive a match slip with room for up to three matches. Who you play, and how many times you play them is entirely up to you! Which format and how many points you fly is also up to you and your opponent to decide before each game!
You earn one point for each match that you play, and earn an additional two points if you win your match. At the end of your session trade your points for store credit at a 1 point = $1 store credit ratio, or cash in your points for OP Kit items. (you can store your points in our system to save up for higher point items)
We have an entire Winter Kit set aside solely for play-testing for prizes:
The 2014 Winter Medal will be given out for the player who accumulates the most overall points while play-testing for prizes in November and December.
